i've never owned a century rod since the 90s ie formula one and long eze sport since then i've been a zziplex man and there's not many i haven't tried but this particular century model might have me putting my hand in my pocket i've had a go of a good few centurys and did like the excalibur j and c curve for the feedback you got from the rod not unlike a zziplex seen the t1000 in nets and at 14ft 10 the rods seems well balanced with a nice slim blank but on paper very powerful but the tip doesn't feel overly stiff when you pick up some rods they just feel right and this could be one of them now that this rods been out for a few month i'd like to know how it performs as a ( FISHING ROD ? ) I know there's loyal century fans out there so let's have some honest opinions

cheers anthony

Pure quality on the braid probably best on market any make,as a distance big leads 175grms+ and baits, mixed and rough ground "fishing rod".Cant comment on whats it like with mono never tried it yet.Nice tip for bite detection.
You need to remember its extra length to most standard rods, the power, very fast recovery, quite a few have bought it and couldnt handle this to their cost.Easy semi pendulum or airilised ground cast, timing and technique, suits it just fine.My Raptors will be collecting dust for rest this winter.

Have the e1000 and have held the new t1000.. The weight difference between them is a lot (e1000 much heavier) Defo know what you mean about the feel of it.. Nice a crisp!.. I'd be interested too..

I love mine, I used fixed spool and braid and like to fish big baits in rough ground. Its perfect for all of that. Haven't had anything big on it yet but I have winched two 5lb+ fish up the cliffs this winter and it didn't strain at all with that. I am not a good caster and its just an overhead thump for me, but I think its easy to cast. Just feels like a longer and crisper tip tornado to me on the cast. Great bite detection with braid and very stable in wind and tide. Can't fault it except for the price of course.

thanks for the comments lads never tried fixed spool with braid but i'll be definitely giving it a go think the rod will perform just as well with my saltist 30strapped to it

I've just done the same thing and gotten myself a great fixed spool. Also just gotten myself and Eliminator E1000 so going to have a play around with mono. Not a fan of braid but can only try lol.
