Embleton

Just seen the big catch of flounder from Embleton that was taken in January open.

Haven't fished there since I was kid but fancy going back.
Can anyone give uz an idea of the best part of the beach to fish for flatties and codling too? My Dad used to set up as near the car-park as possible but I suppose there are hot-spots like at most beaches...
And is it best around Low Tide or does it not matter?

Cheers.

Ross. The sands will move with the sea conditions so the usual tricks apply. Scope it out at low water, look for depressions, gullies and worm beds etc. and fish into these as the tide floods. I've fished the rock edges but not the beach itself (without much sucess I may add!)

Cheers for that John. It's all about reading the beach.

Sea Angler quite often mentions Embleton for flatties but I guess the codling are
harder to come buy.

Beautiful beach though. I'm gonna have a go up there sometime. Thanks again:D
