Eyemouth Harbour

afternoon all, as stated in my previous posts I am new to sea fishing, having spent the last few years on still water. Anyway, I have a quick question...

I am heading up to eyemouth at the weekend and was wondering if there are any regulations on fishing from the harbour wall? I know there are some better marks up there but I will have the family with me so I will need somewhere with easy access and the north wall is a short distance from where the wifes mother lives. Not too fussed about catching or not as long as the bairn gets a chance to chuck some line into the water - just wanted to make sure that I was legally allowed to do this before I give it a go

cheers all

don,t think theres any restrictions. always people fishing there when i,ve been up . but beware the harbour is usually full of seals. a local fish van sell bits of fish for the tourists to feed them so they are residents up there now.would be better on the pier at the harbour enterance away from the crowds. no bait shop in eyemouth so take frozen or you may get some mackeral from the fish market {if they ever show up}.

Aye, the wife was on about them - I am sure my son would love feeding them. Just hope the weather holds out for the weekend!

On another note, is it acceptable to take a couple of fish back for the table? If so what do you normally do to dispatch them? it's ok at the riverside giving them a smack with a priest, but I imagine that if the harbour is busy I get some dodgy looks etc if I do that in front of non-anglers!
