haha, fish eat anything.

i was feeding tuna and dorrado stale french stick bread!! when i was offshore in angola. they were big fish as well.
in fact, anything that hit the water the would come and have a pop at it lol

Got me thinking. When fishing for Carp we use a hair rig with either a boilie or pellet on. Hair rig is a tail of line which hangs down seperate from the hook. The pellet is then threaded on the line and kept in place with a small plastic stopper. When the pellet is sucked in by the Carp the hook is sucked in as well but stays around the lip area where it is easier to hook.
This could be adapted for sea fishing by using a bigger rig and threading say 6-8 pellets on. These pellets have loads of additives and leave a big trail of odour to attract fish. I think it would work, especially for Cod.

my fav bait to date is rare and hard to get white worm.......lug,rag, razor and peeler. all dug and collected by myself and fishing partner, not a penny spent apart from on petrol and red bull, as theres nothing better then catching on your own bait when i was buying from tackle shops a while back i didnt catch as much , knowing where your bait is from and how fresh it is seems to be working for me.

I have got to agreewith you thee mate it takes abut effort to digg and collect but the results speak for themselves oh while we are on the subject of collecting I'm gonna seriously collect peeler this year I know the best areas are closely guarded and with just course just wondered if anybody would say that the rocks are better than the mud banks in esturies for collecting and what time of year best??

All good baits above, but also like razer shell clams, theres no true yes or no`s it`s what the fish want on the day I`ve seen people have all the bates mentioned and get nothing for the whole day or night, then only to go back to the same venue the next day with the same baits have a whale of a time.
