Fear of flying

So Kayos, my big Jessie of a partner is terrified of flying and I mean terrified! His uncle is a Doctor and supplied him(legally) for years with Diazapam. He regularly took 15-20mg per flight and could have flown himself without an aircraft on many occasions, he was that high!

Anyway, in his late 70's, his Uncle has finally retired. Kayos went to the health centre on Friday to get his pills for Budapest, only to be seen by the new senior doctor, a South African woman who said she "only gives out 1 pill per trip and gave him a script for two x 2mg tablets telling him "he needed to be in full control of his faculties in case there was an emergency." Probably not the best angle to take with the big girl's blouse!!

He was not a happy bunny and is now considering going to the Port to see if he can buy any on a street corner! :D:D

Anyone want to come with me to Budapest? :)

May not be the best idea going to the port to pick some up....In times gone by, many a man woke up on some of her majesties finest sailing vessels, halfway across the world after going to Port and getting 'off their face'.

Has he tried hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy? he is way too skeptical for all that guff. I booked him on a fear of flying course, but he was too scared to go! :D:D

if there was an emergency at 30000 feet, personally I'd rather be wackoed, after all, it's a long way down to yer certain death like. unless yev got a parachute:)
 
Just tell him that he shouldn't be afraid of flying it's perfectly safe. It’s what happens when the plane unexpectedly stops flying that he should worry about; then, as long as he misses the ground on the way down he’ll be OK.

Exactly Gordon I am constantly amazed that when you go on a plane, in the safety brief they tell you how to put on a lifejacket! WTF!!

You don't go on a ferry and get a parachute!!??

just get bladdered before boarding kayos. they won't let you fly
 
Drugs ?? He takes drugs to fly ? :D

I used to sink a few before a flight and during, but now I just get a really early flight time and go to sleep

Ibiza is now only an hour long flight now..;)
