Hello lads just in from our few days away at Ipswich. We stayed here and fished two matches at Felixstow at different locations.
First day we fished late /evening Aldeburgh and Thorpeness areas. This was a dire 5 hr session for everyone (including our champ Ian) I got a whitie and so did Ian the other two lads blanked.
It also rained very heavily all the way through.
Next day was better with sunny weather. This location was at Aldeburgh. Ian the captain rallied the troops by supplying them with some nice white ragworm and by selling me two peeler.Ian hit the jackpot here scoring very well with over a dozen fish (sea angler was down taking pics-so keep an eye open). At one point he caught two School Bass on one rig. I caught 4 fish to schoolies and two dabs. Les one of our team had 2 fish for and poor Bill our oldest team member blanked again.
Heres a couple of pics if your interested lads.

I walked to my peg from the towers in the background.

This view was to my right towards the river estuary. Some really good cod fishing up there by all accounts.

Overall poor fishing and an odd way of adding up the final points for the compo-But nice to meet up with some old friends.
Next year is Ireland but first i have to qualify.

Aye it was areal scratching session. Biggest fish to win was just over 3lb Cod. We had a very small scoring system-anything over 18 cm scored.

Mick, what can I say.....no the wonder I only had one on the first day, never in my life have I had so little sleep, Ive never slept with a louder snorer than you, and before codonly or flatheed says owt, ive slept with a few who snore :o
Second day was better, thats because I must have fallen asleep in the Hotel bar, well away from your pig impressions.
Overall, not a bad trip away and cant wait to se the photo's, mite do a signing session when they come out. ha ha

If you don't like snorers Ian you're in for a treat next month haha.

Mick, your walk was nowt compared to mine as you know by missing my peg and having to walk back :D

Nice photos

Aye you looked a picture on the way back Peter. I thought you had been dropped off somewhere nearer for a miute.
Chut sorry about the snoring mate - its the 9 pint syndrome. I,ll let you have the pole from the brolley next time to belt me with.
Lads next time down i would use the 45 yard rule cos thats where the fish seemed to be most of the time.
