well there were two idiots on shields pier last night,set a fire at the 1st gate,looks like the council went alont to put the fire out,looks like they kicked the fire into the water,only for them to leave then the fire started again,then the fire engine turned up,and it was put out quickly,
well cheers because of actions like that we could be banned from fishing the pier

To be fair I think the coppers on Tyneside have bigger things to worry about on a Saturday night than a couple of feck wits lighting a fire on the pier. Don't get me wrong, IMHO it should have been the police not the fire brigade who went back to deal with the second fire while also nicking them for criminal damage but I can understand why they saw it as a low priority.

As for bring in nice warm cars Kayos - you get your fat one out tonight and patrol the pier instead of calling the police who have an ever harder job to do as the scum of society keep breeding.
I work hard and yes I am an officer and I would bet my months wages you couldn't and wouldn't do my job!!..when your nice and warm tucked up in your pit tonight I will be night shift making sure someone's not burgling your house or knicking your car or assaulting your family...or would you rather I patrolled the pier to prevent what other decent fishermen should be doing!!!!!...

I saw some lads on South Shields pier once with a fire. It was controlled in a bucket with holes in it. They were using barbecue charcoal as fuel. Could,nt see any problem. I suppose if someone rings up and sees the burning the fire brigade or police will have to attend. If it was me who went down i would let them get on with it.
personally i could,nt be bothered with any sort of fire its to much chew on.

What time did this happen? i got to the brigade hut around 11pm or so that night and there was only one other lad fishing two young kids went up to the first gate around 1 am but we didnt see ant fires lit they came back down around 2 am and we stayed around till 4 am and there was nothing like that had happened up till then? or was this earlier saturday evening?
