Chris, although we don\'t get many reports from that area on the board the beaches round there were amongst the best in the country at one time for Cod fishing. The Seaham Beaches - Chemicals and The Blast Fish well after good seas, Blackhall and Horden the same. Access can be a bit difficult to work out if no-one posts details here ask in one of the local tackle shops. I\'ve fished Hawthorne Point a few times this year - south end of The Blast. On a clear night some of these beaches are spectacular places to be. Not what you\'d call golden coral sands but there\'s something about them! Good Luck.

As for the 110yds :o

The sea was very big, white horses as far as i could see.Never seen anyone fishing on whitley bay beach Tynemouth area, dout you could hold bottom on the beach and the pier was unfishable with waves crashing over.

hi fished seaham area for years, seaham hall a good mark, dawndon blast is fishing but ground can be a bit rough, thinking of fishing horden next year hearing good reports but leaving car can be a problem, these beaches used to fish well in calm conditions when pits where working but better now when sea has movement on good fishing :D

hi chris Hordens alright if you leave your car in the road near the houses at the viaduct at the top of the beach road.Mind if you have a 4x4 you can get on to the beach via 11th street in Blackhall. :D :D

thanks for the help every one
sean i was fishing the end just to the right were the boats come in

Mean\"t to say earlier well done Chris. Took me a sight longer than that to catch a decent fish.It was about two years (from the shore) and the fish was about eight and a quarter pound. Still my biggest fish to date.
