Nice fish Tel,well done mate.
I used to love fishing for them with the fly.
Most of the Grayling have disappeared from the Wear now,the Cormorants have eaten them.

I used to get quite a few years ago fishing the stretch of the teviot between the teviot bridge just outside Kelso and Roxburgh the folks had a caravan up there never targeted them just used to come along while trout fishing if I remember right the flies tupps indespensible and black spiders worked well up there but what ever the trout were on too mind grh's ring a bell too.

When I first started fly fishing 15 years ago the grayling was the 1st fly caught fish I had taken out of the Tyne from prudhoe
Beautiful fish well done mate

Thats a proper rarity mate,I've fished around there for 40 odd years and never even seen a grayling let alone caught one!Derwents got a canny head of them though mainly small.
