First Fishing Rod...

my first rod was a old fly rod i got off the shields flea market for £2 . it bent like hell with a 1oz lead on it and a old Michel fixed spool. one of those tiny ones for £1. and went down the mill dam with my cousins. dindt get a fish till a few weeks after lol.

my first proper rod was a dc6 . wish ild never sold it. and i had a old 6500 ct rocket.

My first rod was a 9' solid glass Milbro with a wooden butt, old man got is it from robertsons brand new for £3. I can't remember what it was like to chuck but it couldn't of been that bad as I caught more on that rod than any other since. Then again there was loads of fish around back then.

My first rod was a Winfield 6 footer from woolworths, caught a tiny perch and bream in the trent with it.
First sea rod was a Diawa moonraker and got a pouting around a pound on it from hawthorn point. Gave it away about 6 months ago to a mates lad who is just starting out.

mine was a cheep 8ft pier rod 10lb line fixed spool no 3 hook 3lb cod blyth jetty with me dad in 1976 when i was 11 ................. ohhhhhhhhhhhhh the good old days lol.

I remember mine was some sort 10ft Shakespear spinner fixed spool combo for about 25 quid from Mcdermotts on my 13th ish birthday! First fish would of been a flounder from the Wansbeck flatty pool!!! I did have one of those 5.99 set ups before that but caught nowt on it!!!!

Nizmo surfmaster with an old metal shakespeare FS what weighed a tonne. Caught abit seaweed on roker pier..... then it opened it eyes and scared the f***** **** outa me lol
