Cheers Bassboyo, just hope the weather isn't too bad!

Looks like there might be a bit sunshine for tomorrow (if the forcast is right). Tad cold though and I can't find my bloody gloves.

Anyone know if the river is coloured up with the bit rain we've had ?

went to the meeting today not to fish but to learn about these plastic lures and i am converted boys great sport and a great bunch of lads will be having a look in moonfleet angling shop this week hopefully to get the white ones they seem to do the damage today out fishing all live baits hard to believe unless you were there and nice to put names to faces phil123,thunderpants,lambtonworm wreckingball and phillitofish to name just a few nice to meet you all and a giant thanx to the fella who gave the young lads the moonfleet baseball caps my littlun is over the moon hoping to go down there in a few weeks to give it a bash with the little fella
ps anybody going down on a weekend take some ear plugs that motorbike was mental
went away with some great advice on this form of fishing and would recomend it to others great sport

Thanks to everyone who turned out, it was good to put some faces to names and exchange some ideas. If the next meet goes as well as this one we'll all be top of the table.

Cheers for the turn-out fella's, as it been said a number of times is great to put the names to the faces. Quite a successful session for most, Flounders on the board for a few people now! If you blanked (like me!!!) there's no shame in it whatsoever, remember we are all learning! Stick with it and you'll get your rewards! Some good tips and advice exchanged today too.

The whole point of today was to introduce people to fishing with Soft Plastics, and to prove that fish can actually be caught on artificial's in the Winter in the North East! Regardless of technique they actually work. Over the next few months we can explore different venues and different techniques, so I hope everyone that came today will stick with it and join us the next time.

This is probably the toughest time of year to fish with Lures, so those of you that caught well done, the Spring and Summer are only going to bring more fun and more species!

Nice to hear that the session today went well, I'd love to come to the next meet up myself. Is there a way of getting an invite to the next meet up?

When in moonfleet on Saturday I bought some of the white isomes (think i spoke to you wreckingball?) and today whilst fishing the amble open on warkworth beach I baited one of the 3 hooks on my flapper with half a isome worm. I used rag and lug on the other hooks tipped with mackie and would you believe it but I caught 2 decent flounder - both on the isomes, I got nothing on the fresh bait!!!

Obviously I didn't win the open but I didn't blank unlike some along side me!

Keep the reports coming lads, great reading!

Well done Damo (dog runner) I am going to get some of the white ones and try it out on a small spinning rod c wot happens mate

i was very suprised that these plastics fished not only did they fish theu out fished fresh bait and not scabby rag or lug these were nice big fresh yellow tails well impressed

There are no invites required mate, keep an eye on the posts for the second meet. Its still not finalized yet but should have a date fixed soon. Every one is welcome.

I had a very pleasant afternoon fishing with very good company, will definitely make the next meet. Caught two flounder on my two hook rig at the same time at the start and then repeated it 15 minutes before the end, so 4 caught in total, all on white isomes.

Will put pics up when I've worked out how to do it, thanks to Simon for giving me a Lure Fishing Challenge card. Where would be the best place to post them, in this thread or the catch report?
