Well done, fantastic fish. I fished the same point a few weeks ago looking for a Bass but never got a bite in 2 hours so I moved to the slab and fished into the harbour to save the blank with a flounder. I am going back to that mark again now but with a bit more of a sea on next time !

It went a treat at the BBQ, the amount of meat on it was simply amazing

Took my canoe down to sluice yesterday with a couple of mates and pulled in 2mackerel 1sand eel and a codling for anyone who's interested , all went back in the water

Hello, this is my first post i created an account in hopes this story would be of interest here
Wednesday night after work we decided to go fishing, we set off at half 6 despite the terrible weather. I first me and a friend went to the pier .. after 45minutes we left because people were only catching on the end and ive never been the biggest fan of piers or mackerel fishing anyway
So in the car leaving the pier i asked my friend if we should call it a day or not because the rain was proper coming down now haha, after much debate we decided to give a nearby beach a go to do some beach casting with ragworm we had leftover from a previous night
the beach was dead, probably because no1 in their right mind would be out in this weather
Anyway after my 5th cast we were discussing how depressing the weather was and suddenly my rod jerks and pulls the tripod over, i chased the rod which was being gradually dragged into the sea lol!
After a mean fight i finally managed to land this beast of a Fish ! i have caught alot of 5lb ++ cod etc on boats and alot of others such as squid dorado etc but this is by far my best fish and on a night it came so unexpected i guess it makes up for countless nights of flatties as id been chasing bass for a while, i really didnt expect on this size in the north east, it was a sweet 5lber

Haha I almost did jump in ! Didn't really matter due to forgetting a waterproof on one of the wettest nights in a while !
