going boat fishing for the first time at the end of the month out of h,pool,what i need is a bit of advice lads, i have fished from the shore for years but boat fishing is a whole new kettle of fish for me[excuse the pun]
i have borrowed a boat rod and i think my penn535 loaded with 40lbs line will be o.k but what bait or lures do i need and what does uptiding mean and anything else that is relavent thanks, oh and what do you do if you are seasick, or more to the point stopping being sick.
 
What kind of boat fishing are you doing?

Cant help on sea sickness, loads of people try ginger, tablets and so on..i think its all mainly in your mind, i am lucky and never been sea sick but i know alot that are and once they start the only way to stop is to be back on land.

Blue shads mate on a flowing trace,even use pirks.
i take "sea legs" for the sea sickness.never been sick yet so they must work,if ya start to feel woozy just look to land and concentrate on a fixed object.What boat you going out on?Ya rod and reel should be fine mate,i only use my SL30SH loaded with 35lb line
 
seasickness is all in the mind I reckon. If you are worried about it and think you might be seasick you probably will be. If you can convince yourself you won't be you're more likely to be alright I reckon. Mind you it was only on the trip back with the panzer that I sussed that one out, several hours in a hot dark, diesely stinking engine room being bounced about and never got a sniff of it

bit of preparation helps though, get you're gear all sorted before you go so you're not spending time on your hands and knees sorting rigs out. That was the bit that used to get me. I'd be fine but 30 seconds bending down to sort out traces and It would start

keep a full stomach as well, stomach half empty and there's room for whats down there to slosh about, stomach full and it don't slosh about as much

Tried stugeron once or twice, but they just made me very sleepy
