First Trip of the Season

We made it out of the marina at lunch time today, turned left at the pier and headed for the yellow can near St Mary’s. The fishing was quiet, with only a few whiting and one or two small codling coming in. It’s still early yet and although the fishing wasn’t great the trip was as it was the first time fishing from the new boat Wor Lass. All went well and the little-un even managed to park it without any crunching noises going in through the lock.

Roll on the warm summer days.

It is always good to get the 1st one under your belt after a harsh winter or 1st time out on a new boat.

I have just got back from the marina, it was blowing a gale so never went out..i had planned a couple of hours close in after i had finished teek oiling the cabin and woods but decided to leave it before i wet the 1st line of the year.

Is she all sorted then, everything you need on her and working? wont be long 3-4 more weeks for me until its fishing time :)

We put her into the water in Feb and planned on a lift-out to repaint the antifoul when the weather had warmed up and dried. With the marina gates being closed for a couple of week I may get her lifted then and hope we don’t get too many April showers. There’s a few odd jobs left to do and I’ll give the engine a service just as a precaution so I know it has had one done recently. Some new fenders to splice onto ropes and I’ll oil my wood too. And a radar to sort out, if the stainless steel people ever get back to me.

Well i have a canny company online for filters, i purchased 3 inline fuel filters, 2 pre-fuel filters, and 3 inline oil filters for £34 with p&p, i know its over the top but i change all the filters once a year and the pre-fuel filter twice a year due to the dirt that seems to be filter out from the fuel pump (brown sludge/water)

I may see you in the yard then, as i am out for 6 days about then, her 1st and last paint and clean out the water under my ownership. Just going to Storra for the anodes as with p&p not much cheaper more online.

Like you i be hoping the weather holds off :)

The filters are cheap, I've just paid about the same for only an oil and fuel filter from the local shop. Could you send me details of who you used if they sell Nanni stuff?
