we fished minorca years ago few mullet and this big ugly red thing with spines that the old fella caught, prawns and shrimp cost pennies from the local fish markets, better than the tinned stuff in the supermarkets.dunno if they still supply them there but we used to buy these dried rag worm in packs of ten, they are made by a company called Kali you have to soak them for a about three days to soften them up!!!!!!!
dunno if its any help, but i fished ibiza for two weeks solid in october last year, took a rod and reel and that was it,find a local tackle shop and see what the locals buy is my tip,i did it there and it worked a treat.small hooks, small floats. The locals there use two or three small trebbles wrapped around a piece of french stick,i know its crude but it works. i struck this deal with the hotel chef,he gave me the bread for fishing and i sold him the fish back on a night, out there i was catching shed loads of sea bream around the pound and half to two pound mark and a few mullet.although the locals there dont keep the mullet.
its worth putting a few different spinners lures in your bag,in ibiza i had some screaming takes just using small live/dead baits from the shore in about three foot of water.
hope thats all of some use to you
