Fishing from South Shields?

Just wondering if there was any groups fishing from South Shields area who wouldnt mind me tagging along, new to this site and looking to learn a bit more than i have from the magazines, lol. Noticed that groups meet at the New Crown on a Friday, but unfortunetly i work thurs, fri and sat nights
Also thinking about joining the Cleadon Club as im only 5 mins away, any advice welcome, cheers.
