Launched lazy daze at Cullercoats to fish the mini boat comp organised by Norman. Already running late, Ken and me made a dash around to the royal quays marina to register for the comp, arrived at the marina pontoon, shall we say overenthusiastically creating to much wake and, ahem! bumping into the pontoon slightly:eek: only to be warmly greeted by Norm and Tony, and other contestants.
Soon we were heading out of the piers and tried a wreck about a mile south east, but only got pouting there, so we decided to go to old faithful, thats the wreck about 1/2 mile east of the yellow can off Whitley to find Norm and Tony fishing there. First fish were pouting, then followed by a couple of cod around the 3lb mark. Fishing was a bit slow, so decided to throw the anchor over. It no sooner hit the bottom and I latched onto a bit better fish just as Norm and Tony arrived back with the video going, which turned out at 5lb 12ozs at the scales. We ended up with 17 cod and lots of pout, so all in all a fabulous day. Cheers Norm:):):)
