Looks a great spot to fish at!
may sound stupid but where is the MOG
MOG = Mull of Galloway.Its the southwest tip of Scotland and is actually south of Newcastle(can I hear the rustling of a map LOL) We have a static caravan on Luce Bay in the village of Drummore which is level with Hartlepool.
There are a lot of open marks with no climbing involved which are suitable for youngsters.Need any more advice just giz a shout

What ever you do dont fish there alone dont take loads of gear do take insect repellent and take your time getting down the cliff. We found it best for one person to tackle a steep bit with no gear leaving both hands free and then the next person passes it down to you, repeat this untill you reach the bottom.
Most importantly though dont fall in. I overheared the manager of the Clash caravan park and a customer asking about which Lifeboat station gets the call out if someone were to fall in off Lagvag point, port patrick or luce bay, isle of man etc. the manager said if you fall in there they dont call the RNLI the just call a Hearse.

What should i use e.g hook line sinker if so what bait or should i use something elselooks canny dangerous getting down is there a safe area to fish from

There are loads of safe places to fish from. To be honest, your best bet is to get an ordnance survey map and take it from there. There are literally hundreds of marks on the MoG. Other places to look are Portpatrick and Port Logan, there are some marks there which are fairly easy to get to.
As for what gear, I only go spinning or floatfishing up there now. If you want dogfish, take your beach gear.
As for bait, frozen sandeel and ragworm will get you Pollack and dogs, whereas you'll get wrasse with ragworm, crab and limpet. There are conger in a few places, plus as John mentioned earlier, a few tope knocking about towards the end of the Mull.

Straight down from the Mull light house car park on the Luce Bay side.Simply follow the dry stone wall all the way to the bottom - and be careful !!!

Thanks again, I'm sure I will call on your expertese on the subject and if I can give you any info on the rock marks between Blyth and Seahouses, particularly Cambois to Amble, just ask. By the way we are stopping on the Clash on our trip in july, last time we stayed in Port Patrick but this time wanted to be a bit more central. Any info on bass marks would be great, I've heard Trevaly point is worth a chuck in the right conditions.

When in July??? We should be in our van on the Clash site for most of it.Will take you out bassing if you want.I just lure fish for them using spinning gear.Prefer to use poppers when the conditions are right.Started experimenting with Storm sandeels and bubble/controller floats last year and winkled a few out.

Going up for a few days in the last week in july going to try as many marks as we can, weather permitting. Keen to get some good pollack on the float and would love to get a tope off the shore and some bass would be nice, not asking for much eh! We had some good pollack up at the yellow isle at portpatrick last june so want to go back there, also have you tryed that lighthouse mark on the west side.

if it the same crammag head im thinking of its between the mog and port logan,i like fishing portlogan for pollock,i plan on fishing the mog more this year,im not as lucky as snatcher having a caravan there but its no to long a drive for me

Yes but its best to check with the farmer first to see what field the bulls are in!!!! I got chased by one there and when jumping the fence got electocuted.Caught some good pollack though.

Just checked the calender.Got to come back here for a few days for the grandbairns birthday but will be back over 11th June for the rest of the month and maybe a bit more. Needany advice on marks just look me up at the Clash
