Well after many many years of trying it looks like I may well be flying off to Australia to meet up with my mate who moved to Melbourne almost fifteen years ago ,we grew up together in sunny Walker ,he's been back twice and I've always promiced to visit the other side of the world myself . After my little bump I've decided that I've waited long enough and will be off there sooner rather than later :D:D.

So ,my question is ,who's been and can recommend a good place for a charter boat ,travelling isn't a bother !!!

My favoured species would have to include ..... Tuna ( any variety ) ,Barramundi and Snapper (again any type) of course any other species is a bonus :cool:.

travelling isn't a bother

Steve - you may find in Australia that it can take 36 days to get to a shop, depending on where you live. On the way you will have to drive on a road made totally out of poisonous spiders, has alligators instead of speed bumps and box a kangaroo before you're allowed in. Once you're in the shop you'll realise they only sell pies and green shorts.

Never been meself like :p

Lucky blighter Steve, have a great time. Have you put any feelers out on other forums? WSF and the like?

I have to watch out for " drop bears " as well so I've been told Ell :D .

As far as hear about it goes Ali .... don't worry about that there'll be pics and vids as long as things go according to plan .

Actually Ian I've not thought about other forums at all as I'm still buzzing big style from the confirmation of the big trip ....needless to say I'm a happy bleeder.

"Drop Bears" *shudder* If there's one thing that scares me more than clowns (and little bats) it's Koala Bears - a cuddly toy with a beak WTF. Are they not riddled with salmonella as well?

I got some good advice from a knarly old bushman in South Africa about the snakes - "Always keep your eyes on the ground my friend, many snakes here. And one other thing my friend, always look above you many snakes in the trees"

Cheers pal :(

Nice one Steve, hope all goes well.

I've got old mates in Oz, SA and NZ and they're always bragging about the fishing and telling me I can come over any time but never had the funds to go.
