i was booked on elizabeth jade from amble a few weeks ago but unfortunatley the weather stopped us going out. when i asked graham the skipper about tackle and bait he suggested daylights baited with prawn with shells on from asda has been working there. but lookin at reports from warlord everything seems to be workin like shads and hokkais aswell so i think its a case of pot luck mate and take a bit of everything
thanks kopite
,ill take prawns along with makky from my last trip out. tackle wise im sorted i think ( box full of all sorts ) was more the bait to take.
I go out with Dave a lot and shell on prawns on hokkais or daylights usually does well as does a single prawn on a flowing trace. The bigger fish have been coming to shads though.
I would save your money on bait and invest in more pirks, daylights, shads and twin tails, apart from when the arms get tired the question asked on my boat is "why you using bait"
Anyway main fish on bait is ling and ling love nothing more than fresh mackerel, if your in clean water then you will get them 2-3 at a time.
Happy hunting...main species at the moment is still cod, ling see to have tailed off abit of late.
