Fixed spool users

There is not a fixed spool reel on the market that is designed for what we use them for and thats fact, no one using a reel on the northeast coast fishing for cod uses there drag as you can't give fish line, shark fishing or big game fishing you play a fish on the drag you don't skull drag them in like we do, you can land 20lb plus fish on a carp rod but you wouldn't land a 20lb cod in the weed with one.

You know what Phil it doesn't matter what anyone says your always right. Okumas are crap, but captains have used these for years with nothing going wrong on fish bigger than anything we'll catch over here.

Not at all I am saying is for £150 there is not a better fixed spool on the market for our coast, what your saying is you have bought a reel and for that reason it's good, have you tried it yet? The spinfisher range has been out for about 20 years and been used in America for huge fish, cheap gear never ever out lasts more expensive gear, if it did the big companies would be bankrupt,

Cranks for fun, no flex as it all metal but distance is a little compromised due to the narrow deep spool. It's a nice compact tough as hell reel for rough ground to be honest. Had a look inside and it's as solid as rock. Very impressive.

No, but will a 20lb cod fight harder than a 20lb conger ? I doubt there's much in it

Would say the conger fights harder if anything, my point is you don't use them you can use a handline to catch fish,my point is the spinfisher for the money is the best reel for the job
