Fixed spool

My mates fixed spool reel knacked up the other day so he's looking to get a new one. I never use them but there must be loads of nice ones out there these days. He wants to spend around £50 and would use it on a 13' moonraker with 30lb line off shields pier or similar place. Any recommendations off anyone on here on what to go for would be much appreciated.

Penn Surfmaster

Penn Surfmaster

Hi, Id look at the penn surfmaster,

the 750 has a better retreie but the 850 takes more line,

If he can get a chepo 1 for now penn are bringing out somthing this year to walk all over this, (the current surmaster can cast 200 yards with a clp down rig) the new one will suposidly be amazing, i was talking to a guy from pure fishing and penn the other day.

But if he dosent want to wait get the penn surfmaster,

Glasgow angling center have them on offer atm , line reel shockleaer and a 15ft sheakspear rod for 99.99

Hiya Mate.

I've used a Penn Surfmaster 850 for the last couple of years and can thoroughly recommend it. Holds loads of line, casts well and gets the lead back really quickly. I use 15lb line with 80lb shock, but I do use a casting cannon (I think that's what it's called) to save my index finger.
Cheers
