the times i have fished balcary it was always small to medium tide on the make and even then it was realy hard to hold the bottom with all of the water coming out of the bay to the east, can only imagine itll be a bit of a nitemare on a huge tide not to mention very dangerous if these south westerly winds keep up the sea will be huge!
I wouldnt waste your time unless you want to catch flounders!!!!
The big cod are likely to be long gone (if there were any there in the first place) you may get an early doggie though.
If its a big tide you will be plagued by grass on your line, also the best tide to fish is the ebb high down to bottom water. It doesnt seem to fish at all on the flood.
Phone the tackle shop at Arwell, Tommy or Tim should sort you out. Going to my caravan on the Mull next weekend anyway so will buy a tide table over there and post up the times for your comp if you are still struggling
