Float fishing?

I'm gonna head over to marsden one day this weekend just past frenchmans and was just going to go spinning see if there was anything doing. Wondering if it would be worth taking a float? I've never tried float fishing before and wouldn't mind having a try. Would it be worth it up there? What bait would be best and also does anyone know any simple enough float rigs I could use? The water seems deepish in places but there is rocks etc about. Thanks for the help in advance lads.

Yes its worth a shot, try rag for wrasse and take some sand eels and a bit mackerel too

Thanks for your help mate, think i will give it a whirl on Sunday. Got some mackerel there too so ill take some along.

outcast hit the nail on the head with his diagram, float fishing great fun and you can experiment with different length drops. You can get a foam with in built lead weight float that's similar to a bubble float, but its a chew to change your depths(new hook snood every change of depth), rag is great and you can add bonnie beads and a bit of tin foil for an attractor!!
