float trout fishing

I've been invited to Achagour Trout Fishery just outside Inverness for a spot of trout fishing with a float. Never done this before so going in about 3 weeks time.

Can I assume this is the same to all other float fishing or is there something different?

Not quite the same.Get bright coloured bubble floats and lock in place with splitshot.Lobworm on size 6 hook works well or sweetcorn/maggots hairrigged on a size 12.You will have to try different depths till you find the fish.GOOD LUCK let us know how you get on

take half a dozen or so already tied at differernt depths.Saves you faffing around on the bank doing it.Clip then onto a small swivel.

i normally connect either side with a small snap link and have a few different hook lenghts already tied just to clip on,

isnt there a plastic stop available now where you can just alter the depth when you see fit?

I was going to use a rubber stop as I am not beach casting so reckon it should hold.
