Floaties

Worth a buy or not. I don't fish piers, but beaches and rock marks. Am v careful as I fish alone and never take any risks.

So purely from the safety side I reckon I don't really need one. But if they're warm and give me a bit extra protection then maybe I should. What's the views of the board and if people recommend them then what are the good ones.

Completely worth the money imo mate, wear mine throughout the year even in summer with just a pair of shorts underneath and never feel the cold or get too hot. I would say get a 2 piece rather than an all in one as I find when im shore or boat fishing in summer I can just have the bib and brace on as the jacket is not needed and at this time of year I wear my jacket with my waders when fishing beaches or rock marks where a bit splodging is required to get to the shot. :)

great reply there, daveH.as said well worth the investmont.2 piece 100%.ps,loads to choose from, its up to you on choice.have fun .

My Sundridge Entec2 is probably the best £100 I've spent on my fishing. It's not about the safety per se (in fact I rarely wear the jacket of mine unless it gets really cold / windy / wet) rather for staying warm, dry and comfortable a decent floatie is hard to beat for the price

Normally wear studded waders - If you're wearing the bottoms as well, do you just make do with boots.

Sorry for all the questions - expensive kit and don't want to waste my money

I don't use a flotation find them a bit clumbersum I go for the layer system with a good windproof fleece on top I've found that most clothing made for fishing to be crap for the waterproof layer you'll find some of the best will be found in sailing clothing my favourite is the Gill os2 jacket and salopettes a lot of us don't flinch at forking out£400 for a rod so why scrimp on the clothing?
We all use chest waders but if you go in the water with these on your flotation jackets not going to save you
