Well lads I give me floaty a good scrub up a few weeks ago now and its never been up to my lasses standards. Shes still whingin on about the smell so im gonna put it through the washer on the lowest settin as advised by a few lads on a previous post with no powder in. Wondering if a bit of fabric conditioner will effect it. Get it smelling champion an keep the dragon off me bk :D:rolleyes:

dont use conditioner as that will remove waterproofing buy a fish bag and store it in that and you wont be able to smell it when its zipped up

Smell

Smell

am sure most lads that have put it through washer have said the same oh buggah when it comes out :eek:warm soapy water elbow grease ;)

I would chance the washer with soap powder rather than just puttin in the bin then after the wash get some of that water proofer from an outdoor store it always works for my family's outdoor clothes. Then we give them a spray with waterproofer as a final stage

Hi Kopite, As Enduro Says, I done mine ( two piece sundridge ) in the washer with liquid soap, then dried it on the line, then washed it again with Nikwax waterproofer added to the wash no probs. :)

mines been in da washer took some lekky mind in da dryer but smelling fresh for how long i do not know till the cod sh!t hits it :D

Used to just lay mine on the yard and blast it with the jetwash, got it nice and clean and didn`t seem to affect the water resistance.

Ill just scrub it again then....... In fact ill get her ta do it an then when it still smells itll be her fault ha ha . Cheers lads

Just stick it into the washing machine on a gentle wash with plenty of detergent powder. Add fabric softener if you want, it will not do any harm and will provide some waterproofing too. You could use a re-proofing spray or wash in treatment to finish the job, although personally I wouldn’t bother.

as was said by topfly, put it in the washing machine with soap powder ( gets all the stink off ) the just wash it using nixwax to give it a nice new waterproof barrier, jobs a good un.oh and DO NOT tumble dry, just let it dry on the line or hanging in ya shed or somewhere like that, away from direct heat sources
