Newton......
Newton Point
If your heading directly for the point you will need to walk back up the road you drove down. Look for the style on the right-handside ( opposite the telephone box ) follow the footpath across the field, through another gate then across the next field and make your way to the point. These marks generally fish better in the summer over low water for the kelp coloured codling. A third of the way along this edge of Newton Haven you will be able to see a skear running out into Newton bay itself this is Burradon Rock a top summer venue especially popular in the big summer open competitions.
Where to park
Quite easy this one, park in Newton Haven itself right on the sea front, outside of the pub. Incidentally you can get a nice pint there if you were wondering.
Football Hole
Good fish are taken from this mark every year. Dont follow the road right down to Newton Haven, take the left fork passed the Joiners Arms and follow it all the way down to the car park at the bottom of High Newton road on the right handside. Over the style, walk south across the field, skirt a deep hole in the dunes then find the fence on your left, walk south along the path through a gate and on another 100 yards, the north skear of Football Hole will be directly in front of you ( 10/15 minute walk ). See top marks.
