Forum or Facebook?

Personally I don't use social media for my hobbies - it's for keeping Grandparents up to date with pics of their Grandchild, keeping in touch with friends from afar or for ranting about the here and now.

I much prefer taking the time to write a proper report on a forum. To me, from what I have seen, FB "forums" are a pretty poor show by comparison

Just my thoughts

Forum every time Tony. Facebook sites almost never have reports, just photos and a line or two - oh and a shed load of "For Sale" posts!!

Although I much prefer to put a catch report/photos on a Forum it is much easier to post on facebook as you can add photos from your phone or computer etc without having to go through the likes of photobucket which for me is a pain in the but . The report soon gets lost on faceless compared to forums .

forums are more civilised, generally better moderated etc etc--having said that i find facebook easier--some of the smaller face book groups are not too bad now

same here i use face book a little , but i much prefer the forum , it just a pity there is not a lot on it these days, when i asked lads why they not go on, they insist because there is not a lot on it , my reply to that is put something on, a joke, a funny story, or a fishing experience and i know ther is lots of stories out there. just waitng to be heard so c,mon lets make NESA great again
heres a joke to start off

Q: What did one saggy boob say to the other saggy boob?
A: "We better get some support before someone thinks we're nuts! -

jokes in wron g place i know

jokes in wron g place i know

As an airplane is about to crash, a female passenger jumps up frantically and announces, "If I'm going to die, I want to die feeling like a woman." She removes all her clothing and asks, "Is there someone on this plane who is man enough to make me feel like a woman?" A man stands up, removes his shirt and says, "Here, iron this!". -

Why do women make better soldiers? Because they can bleed for a week and not die. -

A young woman was taking golf lessons and had just started playing her first round of golf when she suffered a bee sting. Her pain was so intense that she decided to return to the clubhouse for medical assistance. The golf pro saw her heading back and said, “You are back early, what’s wrong?” “I was stung by a bee!” she said. “Where?” he asked. “Between the first and second hole.” she replied. He nodded and said, “Your stance is far too wide.”

forum every time for me, i like fb but for fishing it has to be a forum. the groups etc on fb are ruined by for sale posts and the size/species police

Completely true

Forum members come and go and sometimes member input is seasonal too

I don't shore fish much these days so my own interest comes in the Boat section of which is generally a 6 month window

Been a NESA member for 10 years this summer!

It's the Forum for me Tony. I agree fully with dt1 though, the only downside is the time it takes to load photos. If that could be changed to a copy and paste method it would be a lot less hassle. Maybe resulting in more posts???

Need to keep up with technology or get left behind . Make it more user friendly says me a technophobic however been out in yak and a mate of mine sent a photo off his phone straight onto faceless no hassle :D

Been very quiet for a while hasn't it. I still click on for a catch up regularly and read the reports

I like the handbag fights :)

Forum for me Tony .... Although me cats even got a Twitter page :D

Forum for me, but without doubt social media is killing (and has killed) NESA.
Although NESA hasn’t really helped itself, in my opinion and has rolled over and allowed itself to die. There’s many entirely preventable reasons why very good members have left for other forums and Facebook.
