Frozen bait help

I've just had a first trip to the Chinese supermarket and I've got a big box of Squid. Is it all in one frozen lump. Is it ok to let it defrost a bit and then rewrap and put back in the freezer or is it a hammer and chisel job?:D
Is it as effective if allowed to defrost a bit then re-frozen?

let them defrost, some of my squid has been in and out the freezer loads of time, plus they start to stink after a few times so better for the fish ,,,,

Ive got to disagree with the above comments. I think razor and mussel work better when thawed and refrozen a few times but I personally think that squid should be as fresh as possible. It will be fine partly defrosted to split up a block, spilt into session sized bags and discard what you dont use. When it becomes pink I find its not as good for bait. Im not saying it wont catch but in my experience its better when fresh.

That's what I've read on forums from elsewhere, partially defrost and sort into packets, keep as frozen as possible. Just wanted a North East perspective on it and how effective it is. I've only ever bought small quantities before, enough to fish with but the box was excellent value for money.

Never even thought of a chineese supermarket for frozen razorfish (razor clams they call them) , went down to wing hongs earlier £4.95 for a kilo. A bit small but I recon they had 45-60 in a kilo box.
Thought I'd stock my freezer as I find razors to be a top bait once left out for 24 hours before fishing. Got 4 kilo saved a fortune on tackle shops £2.60 for 4-6 or the hours and hours collecting them.
