All I know is a lad left left his gear next to the noodle place at roker" he got in his car and forgot it and realized he forgot it went back few mins later it was all gone tonight.

There are CCTV cameras out side surf shop I think they point down that way ask them to check ,hope some tramp returns your stuff

The poor fella was walking up and down like headless chicken
I doubt he will see his gear again" I heard him on phone saying there was a portable dvd player in his bag.

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

So he's been using his fishing gear all night then gets to the car and forgets to put it in the car may be a stand or a tip but not all your gear...:confused:

People forget there kids in shops, people going to the cash machine forget to take there cash it happens. The guy might have put his gear down to open the boot then his phones rang spoke for a bit then forgot all about his gear???

The lad needs a crime number. His household insurance covers your possesions away from home, so worth checking.
Quite feasible to forget things, arrive back to your car, lye your gear against a wall, take your coat off over your head and all your other gear you don't normally drive in, chuck it on the back seat, jump in the car cos your thinking of that hot cup of tea and summick to eat when you get home...........:D
Hope he gets his gear back.

People may be jumping the gun a bit here. If I came across a lot of fishing gear with no one around it (obviously mislaid) I would hand it in to the nearest cop shop, as would I think 90 % of the population. I would recommend this guy to check at all the nearest cop shops. You never know, and good luck to him.............hope he gets it back.

Hopefully it gets returned but can't see it happening
Ps left my fishing bait on the bus once gutted but picked some limpets off the rocks next to Roker pier and caught a codling of about 3 1/2 lb

It I'd have came across the gear I'd have taken it all home and put at thread up on here, I wouldnt of handed it in anywhere.
Still hope...if nothing happens next few hours it's probs gone.

Must have been a really quiet night if he was watching DVD's instead of his rod tip :D
On a more serious note though and based on a camping/wildlife mantra i try to stick with "Take nothing but memories (or size fish) and leave nothing but footprints", basically I always check i've left with exactly the same gear I came with.

yep i check round car b4 i leave everytime. few years ago i was fishing amble & at weighin in cambois i found i had dropped my phone, went back up 2 amble & phone was where we had parked must have dropped from smock pocket when took off (lucky) so always check now.
hope the lad gets his gear back.

always check my gear when going back before I set off some times double check around the motor, as rods reels are so expensive to replace.
if any thing I tend to forget something when going fishing its my rod stand or mobile .
