funniest thing you caught.....!

last year on blyth pier, me son ryan struck in2 what he said was a good knock, his rod had a nice arch as he reeled in, and a thought, that looks a good fish.
when ryan got his catch to the surface, he turned and asked for help, as he could`nt reel the lift.
a looked over the rail, there was a mass of weed, so a hand balled it up for him, it hit the pier with a big bang.

searching through the weed, ryan found 8 good sinkers, and a penn multiplier, of the boat kind, but no fish.

any1 else caught owt.....?

once caught a jet ski at blyth ,round where valdburns smelter used to be

Fishing a mark on the tyne a good few years, somewhere around the paint factory/bill quay area, not sure of the name of the mark. Anyway there was loads of ****e floating down with the tide, and sure enough something caught on my line.
After about 10 mins of struggling with it, it appeared to be some kind of animal! Looked like a pig! Trying to pull for a break, the beast kept coming until it was at our feet below the wall............
I kid you not, a huge bull mastif or similar dog with no hair and a rope around its neck, the stench was unreal!
Mainline was then cut, gear packed up and off we went. We named the place "Dead dogs den" and have never been back!
