gallie craig lighthouse mull of galloway advice

Is that the one right on the mull end that now has a car park and coffee shop there?

If it is its hard to get down the bottam, good for pollack and that but some tide rip's through that area...not one of my fav spots when i sued to fish up there..not been for a few years as the area went down

i think so bud, going up that way tomorra like see what happens haha

as above whats it like?

This is a picture of a picture I took years ago when I explored this mark.

This is straight down and a bit left of the lighthouse. There's a more comfy mark to the left but you face the full tidal bore, which is like a river in spate!

And this is all I got for my trouble! One strap conger! It's deep water and rough ground.
I've only fished 2 marks more dangerous. Both in Ireland, bray head, and culoo.

looks kanny mad like!:o iam not great with the likes of st.abbs for climbing about so this is gonna be an adventure! hahaha

If your not great with climbs try West Tarbet is much easier to get to, just follow the track down and fish the rock to the south I've had Pollock to 5lb of there. That said off the front is my fav mark, the climbs not as arduous as St Abbs but its much more severe, big no no on your own or in the wet.

I was there yesterday (not fishing) and it was wet and windy but the sea flattened off late afternoon. There was anglers tents at East Tarbet but they must have been fishing on the West side for shelter. The sun is blazing today and hardly any wind so I'm off out for a few chucks later:)

just got back fished wed all day, nice hot sun, flat sea, pollock every cast with the spinners, no touch on baits! first time up there and i was nice lovely place to be :D
will put some pics up in a while

Got a weekend B&b booked for end August staying at portpatrick I love it over there hopefully the fish will be out to play and might even have a pint or two

Pleased you got amongst the fish. We are hoping to get over next week at some time to open our static caravan on the Clashwhannon site,Drummore.

We will be spending most of the summer there so if you see a red Scenic outside van no 5 (you can see it from the main gate,we overlook the bay) feel free to give me a knock. The kettle is always on.

John
