Going to try again tonight...expectations are even lower what with the recent rain and that but you never know...packing the heavy duty weather gear this time as there's more rain in the air :p:D

Was on Blyth pier after tea last night mate, took 6 and missed a couple more - all on the end but it was shoulder to shoulder as the time went on and getting silly so I packed in. Took all the fish just off the bottom and the majority were pretty close in with a couple actually right against the pier.

cheers - need to catch something...the boats are very unlikely to be going out this week and then I'm on me hols for a fortnight so I need to scratch the itch in some way, shape or form

I was going to go out tonight but Saturday evening is looking better for the weather. Don't know how I am going to fill in two days without fishing though:confused:

The rains eased off so sod it, I am going to the beach. Tackle shop closed now and I only have mackerel fillets in the freezer. Would they be any use on their own as bait or would I be wasting my time?

Ideal for flatties and whiting, the odd turbot and if you're lucky on this coast doggies - but most species will take owt if they're on the feed.
