Getting back into it

Alright lads, just getting back into fishing after a two year lay off due to nowt getting caught ! . Still got all of my gear but wondering where's good to fish at the mo, I'll be fishing at darkness around the tynemouth to Blyth area, used to fish all the piers and beaches but haven't ever beaten my record of a 5lb cod off South Shields pier. Gonna get serious this year now I'm driving and not getting the metro everywhere. Any hints would be great, cheers.

There will be plenty of fish once the sea lifts I am sure mate. Terrible at the moment on the beaches but the river has been fishing well for weeks now. Stuffed with codling with plenty size.

Cheers, I'll give it a go. Been told hebburn has been fishing canny with fish up to 5or6lb.

Hit and miss at moment Hebburn but u got a better chance of a Cod when sea flat

River fishing very well well over 50lb weighed in last night from river with fish bein upto just shy of 5lb
