First time I'd used these guys but had seen them mentioned on here - ordered a couple of new reels last Friday night, a slosh30 and a cheapy multiplier for the harbours etc, plus some spools of line, turned up safe and well yesterday - thought that was pretty good service.
I know people had mentioned the £5 voucher for every £50 spent wasn't available for online orders but in the bottom of my box was a very nice rig wallet complete with 20 assorted fully made up rigs (pennel, flapper, pulley etc), a spool of bait elastic and tub to keep it in. I thought they'd made a mistake at first as it's marked on the invoice at £14.99 but then further down there is a deduction of £14.99 marked as "customer discount". I spent £120 on my order so getting this was a damned nice gesture of thanks for my business. Certainly be using them again.

Now to get some weights made up so I can get out and try this new reel at a few rock marks.

i ordered some stuff last year from them and the service and price was great. i ordered a pair of waders from them in early december and it took them til early jan to deliver!!!! they also ignored a few emails i sent them too re the matter. The price was good though and they did in the end give me a slightly more expensive set of waders than the ones i had sent for at the same price.

I remember you talking about that Ian, they had probably run out of stock. No one minds waiting a bit and you probably wouldn't have minded if they had got in touch but not knowing what is going on can be a real pain when ordering online.

Sounds like you had a canny result 5150, nice to hear of good service as we sometimes forget and just post about our bad experiences, thanks for letting us know mate.

Jim.

yeah ya cannot argue with that, i think its a great deal, only used them meself once on a new floatation suit and it came within 5days

i've ordered some floaty suits last week with some bits and bobs and found the price great, the only problem I have is the delivery, they said upto 10 days but can't tell me when exactly so I have to stay in every day till they come (seems weird why they cant just say its despatched on xx)

delivery - aye, some places are better at order tracking, but to be honest I've yet to have anywhere deliver anything when they say they will. I bought a self-build conservatory for nearly £3000 and was given a set delivery date, it arrived 6pm at night (i'd take a day off work for a morning delivery between 7am and noon) with the guys saying they had another 2 deliveries to make and the next was in Alnwick (I'm Blyth)!
Glasgow used a courier and most couriers will leave a card so you can arrange a set delivery rather than a post-office "collect before 12noon" thing. The only two places we get fast delivery from is play.com for cd/dvd's and the best is our lasses "organic" hair-care place that has shampoo/conditioner stuff out by the next morning 99% of the time - mind at the price she's bloody paying I would hope so too!!!

hi m8 i wasnt it when they came to deliver my gear, just had to pick it up from the mail depot at jarrow viking centre

I've just ordered a rod from GAC (£100) via ebay and hope I get the same service and a freeby. I know they've had some bad press on the forums so maybe they listened to the customers and got their fingers out.

just to add to my moan about the delivery... erm i found it at 5pm in my back garden (lol) fek know's why they didnt know or get me to sign but the box was there with the gear in :) Took a week and it wasnt ment to be here till monday or tuesday of next week.

spot on stuff for the price and I've saved around £100 so I'm happy now, I'll be glowing off roker pier so I might even attract some fish.

I've had a few things from G.A.C never had a problem with them and the delivery was good only negative thing about them is that you have to add VAT to the price, this can be a bit confusing if you are comparing prices for the first time.
Mate at work spent alot of money with them before Christmas, gear came next day and got gift vouchers with the order which he was pleased with

only problem with being popular is slower logistics but it wouldnt put me off buying from then again :) Money is better in our pockets when we're saving.

My rod was delivered in good time by courier and I cant fault the service. Only problem is I got my UK's and IGFA's mixed up and ended up with a IGFA 130, megga over kill!! You could troll a block of councll flats with it and it wouldn't bend. One phone call is all it took to solve the problem and pick up and delivery arranged for the following day. I agreed to pay and extra £5.95 for courier service but much better than being stuck with a mobile phone mast.
