Went to the NEC (Birmingham) today to see the Go Fishing show , what a waste of time ! Nearly all the show is fresh water fishing and all the \"Stars\" are just trying to flog you gear . £12 entry and £7 to park . The best attraction was the pole dancers and scantily clad maidens handing out leaflets :P

Neil Mckellow on the Penn stand however showed me a Penn Tidecutter boat rod , what a beauty . Has anyone got one and whats the best , the 12-20lb or the 20-30lb . Need it for leadhead / shad work .

My mate wanted me to go with him I told him it would be crap,it\'ll cost a fortune in petrol, entry fee and scran.Sure I can remember someone posting last year saying the same thing, pleased i did\'nt go.
(crap as in not much sea fishing gear, nowt against freshwater anglers)

Its been in the paper for the last 3 weeks, if you take the advert along you get a free gift...god knows what that is lol a hook maybe.

If there is alot of things you want, i.e rods, reels etc its worth paying the £5 fee as there is alot of comp between the dealers.

The best girl there was the one in a tiny purple \'outfit\' with the long black leather boots - drooooool!

Got to agree though Dave, it was worse than last year. 3/4 of it was carp fishing of of no interest at all.

One thing that did take mt interest (apart from all the fine ladies) was the Highlander 465 FastFisher. With 30hp outboard, cuddy, road trailer and electrics pack - £9666. Seemed a bit of a bargain!

Did you clock the two on the main entrance Mike with the pigtails and knee highs , I was so disgusted it took me 30mins to move on :P

That Highlander did look canny mind at that price though .

Yep I saw them...and they did persuade me to enter the competition!

Don\'t think I\'ll be going next year though.
