gocompare.com - word of warning...

If you're running quotes for car insurance on gocompare.com, ffs put a false phone number in - I ran three sets of quotes this morning from here at work and when I get home tonite the missus has already warned me that I'm a dead man.... The phone hasn't stopped ringing all day with insurance sales reps ringing up wanting to speak to me about the quote I'd just got. Never had this with other online insurance comparison places and there's no tick-box on gocompare to let you opt out.

still get the occasional call from India..."Hello sir, my name is Jack (??!!) - how is the weather where you are standing today?".... but on the whole I'm now relatively free of nuisance calls

i had someone phone from there asking if i wanted to take out the policy after i checked the site out,i said not at the min,that was that she just said ok sorry to bother you.
no doubt there will be more calls

if you want unwanted calls stopped give bt a ring theyll give you a couple of numbers to ring to stop them i did this a while ago and it seemed to work for most of them.

theres also a number you can ask for to stop that reverse charge thing there doing at the min as ive had numptys phoning all night trying to reverse charges then hanging up {very annoying} you can stop them for a month or five yrs i did the five yrs

I'm already opted out for calls, fax and junk mail, have been for years and we're ex-directory with CLI with-hold. Getting the calls today because I ran the quote without thinking to put a false number in - plus, I'm chasing quotes on a classic German sports car so the market must be a bit hungry... Can't grumble at the prices mind, I'll give them that, but it's getting annoying now, they've been calling all day and just had another now :-/
