God hates the working man

Well the weekend is near and it looks one more to add to the list of called off days...Sunday at least with Saturday about 60/40 in favour of making it out.

The weekends are running out rather quick now but at least this season unlike 2012, when the conditions have let us fish most boats seem to have done well most days.

North East fishing weather has been so crap I've taken to working in Croydon for the last 6 weeks! (2 to go)

This is the King Henry (26oz T Bone) from the Croydon Steak House - been in business 46 years

:D

Been out today, it was bumpy to say the least but still made it on 7 wrecks and took fish off all of them just nothing over 6lb i would say, Mackerel shoaling up now but still to be had.....home in time to watch the Newcastle match :)

Bumpy ! that's one way to describe it and that was just the stretch of water in between the lock gates.
Big Thank You goes to Richy ( Northeast1) for the invite even though it wasn't "A Lovely Day Out" until next time Richy.

Working Men

Working Men

Its not that God hates the working man, its more of a case he hates the angling man.
The angling man takes the creatures he put in the seas and rivers and then there's the lead that comes from the roofs from his houses of worship. :D :D :D

I am glad i am not at sea today, its wild outside my house...wind and rain.

Monday a no go now either so its a few hours of lead making or sorting my Norway gear out to fill abit of time in. Hard to think in 4 weeks time its all over and the gear will gather dust until Mid-April :(.

I saw you coming back in between the piers yesterday. It did look a little bumpy:)

You should not have gone back for the footy, mate!

I was out from 3pm after work. Initially it was very lumpy, but from 5pm it calmed right down into a glorious evening fishing.

Why do you do such a long winter break?

I find that drift and wreck fishing can be good well into January. And there is also the uptiding. I know not everybody likes it, but you dont need much fuel and it produces very nice cod, you never get tangled, hardly lose tackle etc.

I do agree that February and March are totally useless.

I seen the wind ahd dropped but i always do things at the night anyway so have to be back in before 6pm regardless.

The winter fishing has never been my cup of tea really, i often stop when your hands start to get cold from handling fish etc, in short i just dont like the cold :)

Uptiding does seem to produce a few nice fish but its not for me and i winterize my boat every year, stripping it down etc.

If the boat gets sold it will be an even longer break if the right one does not come up.
