alrite lads, need bit help on choosing a decent rod for summer, something with bit backbone,be targetting bass, pollock and want something that will stand up to challenge,i know the cono flex assassin is decent but wanted to know if anything newer on the market

2-4 oz they are abit stiff for small lures but defo light enough to turn its hand to heavy spinning if it calls for it, plenty back bone if you hook out big. its my 'all round' rod at the moment

Yeah got one of these, good rods but I probably wouldn't use it for lure work. Ended up using it for my flattie rod or very light bait work for bass.

Your asking for a stiff rod but most light carbon rods can take a beating. I've got a very small and light rod (which I cant remember the name of) and I've had 4 macky on at once (plump ones too). Just my opinion though :D
