Goverment to sell off the air sea rescue

With crews reduced from 240 to 66 thats a big hit :(. The replacement aircraft do sound vastly superior to the Seaking, thats looking on the bright side, but overall this government is getting on my t!t$, with this privatisation . I dont know about you lads but however many billions the country owes doesnt really bother me, they ( politicians ) got the country into the bebt, the things that do bother me are, prices going up on fuel, vat, food, fishing items and the amount of people losing thier jobs. Like you say Big Cod..What Next...:question:

The privatization of rescue services was started 4 years ago, and the contracts were already awarded. I suspect there's a degree of having to let it go ahead as it would be a lot cheaper than to try cancel the contracts that the last lot dished out - six billion quids worth!!!!!:eek::eek:

I agree with replacing the Seakings, some are over 40yrs old, but replacing the whole lot for a private company? Does this mean we'll get the fuel bill if one of us has an accident? I'm sure the shareholders will be pushing for it.

Why is it everyone blames this goverment

Just look at the facts that shower of sh1t that have just left power have left us nearly bankrupt and someone still loves them

everytime they leave power someone else has to come along and get nasty to sort it out

if this is a real problem then just make sure that when you go out you are better prepared

disgrace what they planning,if prince charlie boy was to go down in his big yacht and there wasnt anyone to rescue him near by,im sure they would soon change there veiws on cutting services, but thats the w*k tories for you

"Why is it everyone blames this government?"

Because this set of thieving lying cheating millionaires are bent on crucifying the man in the street and keeping him in his place.

"We're all in it together" yes unfortunately we are. Unless of course you happen to be born with a silver spoon up your arse and have the services of some devious corporate accountant who can ensure you do not pay the taxes you should be paying in this country.

Not for one minute would I attempt to stick up for the previous government who were exactly the same as these present b@sturds in all but name.

"if this is a real problem then just make sure that when you go out you are better prepared."

What a stupid comment. Before you go out to sea you always make sure you are as well prepared as you can be but accidents do sometimes happen that's why the rescue services are so essential.

Well said

but its a labour plan that can't be reversed - they dished out 6 billion in cushy contracts to their mates already

its laughable really, tories come to power and the riots start! where the feck were the protests & rioters when labour did a U turn and brought tuition fees in in the first place and dumped maintenance grants, same place they where when mandelson ****ed 3 billion quid up the wall on the dome, same place they were when david 'blind boy' blunkett introduced the RIP act, brought stop and search and the suss law back in and generally completely screwed everyone's civil liberties up, same place they all were when they thought it a jolly good wheeze to get involved in the wholesale slaughter of arabs (which as only cost us about 400 billion quid so far)

where was that - freaking nowhere, thats where

was just looking at the arrests and wanted photos for this weeks riots... Charlie Gilmour, son of david gilmour, who's just about to leave uni anyway and whose dad is worth several hundred million!

the head the ball that through the fire extinguisher off a roof last month - daddy a multi millionaire with connections whose made it all go away for him

to all those that are now whinging and whining and protesting cos the tories are back in - you brought it all on yourselves by letting the last shower of ****e get away with everything and anything

its all too little too late

If thats a really stupid comment just ask how many boaters on here actually carry an auxhillary engine whilst out at sea and see how many actually do and thats only the tip of the iceberg

Top post

sometimes all it takes is a little brains to actually work it out

These measures that are been implied at the moment are been done to make sure we dont go under

Just think about loosing the health service and welfare if we did go under and then thank them for sorting the mess out as if it had of been left we surely would have gone under

Its funny how nearly every other country in the western world is up a bigger creek than we are. All because some greedy mortgage companies in the US got together with crooked landlords and offered mortgages to mainly black under educated tenants to buy their homes. Looked great the mortgage payments were less than the rent. A no brainer, until they read the small print and the rate was subsidised for 2 years then shot up. They defaulted and the crooked landlords bought the house back for a song. In the meantime all those dodgy mortgages had been sold off round the worlds banks as triple A investments. This was done on a huge scale, hundreds of billions of dollars worth. And guess what not one of the *******s who was involved in this has been brought to book. In the meantime me, you and our kids are going to be picking up the tab for years to come. The bankers who were all part of this, but to be fair a lot of those were conned as well, will be picking up healthy bonuses.
Oh by the way the Dome was John Majors idea.

Oh by the way the Dome was John Majors idea.

true enough it was sort of.... the original plan was for a festival of britain type event, industry paying for and building their own bits, the government contributing 100million to the build costs...

Mandy decided to built a 3 billion pound tent instead

regardless of who is in power they dont give a flying **** for the working man
just how much more tax etc they scan squeeze him for :(

Every one in government are liars and scum makes no difference who is in charge they just fill ya heeds full off s*** cut cost to save money then pull ireland out the s*** all the money saved gone.

That is the big question, will they carry card readers to take payment before they haul your freezing butt out the sea?
