Ok cheers for all the advice lads, witht he weather it looks like i have at least 3 days to spend looking on the net and doing the odd job on the boat....one thing stands out....you need bluechart or a version of it on any gps plotter you buy.

Ok at last just ordered a Garmin 555 with External.R, i was tempted by yours Bob but think it may have been abit big for the boat, this one has cost £530 with full uk blue charts,waas and g2 2d grphic card.

Hope to ahve it on the boat by the weekend and if the weather holds try it out MOnday as Sat and Sunday will be a right off if the pattern continues.

lol Norman. Well i will be down the marina all day Wed sorting the few small issues on her then if that sw wind dont churn the sea up, going to take some family member sout for a little trip, no fishing once again mind lol, saving that for the new plotter.
