decided to head over to grassholme for a few hours yeasterday got there for 0700 took the gear down to the waters edge with the youngest (son aged 6)and sat waiting for the ;l0odge to open looking around i thought we would be in for a good day sun was beaming no wind nice morning for it
anyway got into the lodge payed for my permit and me and the boy started fishing well the young boy did anyway earlier on whilst paying he said he was goin to get himself 5 fish so i just laughed it off and agreed with him
we had our fisrt couple casts each and nothing happend then all of a sudden the little man had his first bite but he missed it 5mins later the same thing happened again he missed the second but by 1030 he had his first 2 rainbows then it went quiet for him for about an hour or so then all of a sudden he was into his 3rd fish of the morning a nice blue trout just short of 2lb then it came in cold and windy and started spitting on to rain so we called it a day and headed up home a couple of other lads where there aswell but never had nothing whilst i was there i never even had a bite all morning but was pleased for ma kid with his first ever fishing trip out being a good success the chap from the lodge took a couple of pics and said he would send them off to the evening chronicle either this thursday or next all in all an enjoyable day

Fisherman For Life

Good for him !

He's well and truly hooked now.

Did it with my lad but he never took to it, but it must have skipped a generation 'cos my Grandson's mad keen.

Tight lines,
