Greys Mag 6 and 7.

Good reels. I've been using both for a while now, with no problems. Mags work well, strong retrieve and very smooth casters.

Can't go wrong for the price now.

Hi Tony
out of the two g-mags 6 & 7 which one one would you say would be best for rock work likes of Cambois, Newbiggin ect. Also does anyone know if Ian Woods have them in at that price.

greys 6

bought the 6 a fortnight ago at frasers for £59.99 feels very well made but have not been able to try it yet.

Frazers selling mag 7 on fbay for same price. Were these originally overpriced? Can't seem to give them away now. Retrieve ratio might let them down a bit, but still seems a lot of reel for £60. Having said that you can get slosh 20 30 for roughly same price and they have "a cult following". Think I spelt that right.

Think its a hard market to crack, for years it was ABU,shimano came along with the speedmaster and diawa with slosh range, think its just nobody willing to try an unknown brand.Penn mags are popular now,yet the penn mag 970,980 never caught on that much.
Dont know if its just us geordies but we like to stick to proven brands, same with rods too.
