I am fancying slashing out on a new multiplier, but am a bit strapped so price range limited. Have been looking at Greys mag 7, and Okuma magnetix, both maybe in price range. Any advice on merits of both these reels would be great, want to use on all kinds of marks, and good casting a help.

Thanks. :confused::confused::)

Got the okuma magnetix 20 without level wind the only fault I can find with it is the spool is too small. I can empty it with ease and Im not the biggest chucka either.

just bought a sl20sh picked it up off ebay yesterday im new to multipliers and after looking at a few and advice from local tackle shops i opted for a very good second hand one very cheapish..

Bought the okuma magnetix 30 and couldnt get away with it, could put plenty line on it but the reel felt too bulky, got the magnetix 20 and as
one of the above posts mentions you can easily empty the spool,but the
reel itself is spot on, cant fault it.

I wouldnt bother with either mate i had the okuma magnetix 30 and didnt like it its more of a boat reel mate if i was you i would buy a slosh 20/30either new or second hand both are cracking reels mate

like the other lads say mate try flea bay:) just make sure wot you get has got all wot it says ie magnets or brakes because sometimes they've been removed and not put back in:):)
but i would go with a slosh20/30 or a 525 mate cnt get anybetter than them:D

Go for the greys mate u will get a new 1 for the same price as a second hand slosh and if u buy new from the shop it should come with a warranty.

Greys have a bad review mate plus they are £60 you can get a mint second hand slosh for £45-£50 also there on ebay brand new for £75

I use the Gmag6 as my first multi and its fine for a noob like me, my son has the okuma magnetix and that too is a good reel, holds plenty of line unless you cast 200 yards which sadly is out of our range lol. I'm going to upgrade when I have mastered the multi, but yeah as a first multi for a cheap price you can't go wrong, at least its covered for a year unlike a second hand reel.

rutherfords had the greys mag 6 in for £10 cheaper than the mag 7, I've got the 6 and both okuma mags 20 and 30, the 20 is ok for river use and I find the 30 to big to cast with I will use it for a boat reel. I find the greys better for me because it has mag brakes and centrifugle.

I have not read any of the above apart from the first post but i HATE okuma stuff, i find it poor built, may have got better in the last two years but i had seen enough never to buy Okuma gear in my lifetime.

My brain hurts now, but thanks for your honesty, got a broken ankle but cannot wait to get back oot with rod and whatever reel, i am like a caged animal. :cool::confused::thumbup:
