do any of you know if its possible to get a reducer for the bairns shaddow she is just getting the hang of using a heavier rod than a carp rod and using a multiplier she seems to cast more cumftably with the reel down but i think she will struggle reeling in with a fish on

sorry its not the answer your looking for, or not an answer at all but a question :p
what is a reducer?

been a bit shy to ask when seen people talking about this on other threads lol

not so silly question mate its a short lenth of carbon about a foot long which slides into bottom of rod so if you fish with reel down it extends rod for reeling in its a bit daft tho because it dont reduce the rod it extends it so realy it should be called a extender lol

thanx mate :) appreciate it, any knowledge is appreciated as im just a novice :p

but surely a reducer can be used after you cast out...
cast out as you would do with your reel at the bottom of the rod, then on the retrieve you can attach the reducer (extender) :p for comfort when retrieving.
