Anyone got any comments on the Greys Slide Lock reel seat?

Feels a bit flimsy to me...

also...and this is prob a daft question...what are the velcro strappy things that come on the rod for?

havnt used the seat myself so cant comment tony, i assume the straps are just rod ties m8, handy when climbing rock marks to strap rod and stand together

the strappy things are for holding you rod together, as for the reel seat i dont like them as my slosh slides all over the place, it was ok at first but then it seemed to loose its grip.

Best reel seat i have ever used is the century sliding reel seat which u can place anywhere on you're rod with out having to glue or taping it. When u cast orr have a fish on you feel in total control of both the rod and reel, its makes casting comfortable.

Been using the Greys reel seats without any problems, I'd go as far as to say I really like them, once the reel is screwed down they don't budge at least haven't for me.

I make rucksacks for Red Squirrels to help them survive - I find these rod wraps perfect for adjustable shoulder straps. The modern Red Squirrel needs to keep on it's toes these days and many have taken to using off cuts to secure acorns in bandolier fashion across their fluffy little bodies - bless em I love little squirrels

Apologies for going off topic :red:

this is my best buy when it comes to reel seats, not sure what its called or who its made by but it weighs next to nothing and very easy to slide up and down. i think i paid £12 for it from the takle shop at the start of west road, never had a problem with it but i did remove the the thumb rest

its a talon2 m8, great reel seats

aye jimmy, they grip like a vice m8, i also have the abu grip-lock but it starts to move about a bit with a good fish on, dont know if this happens to any one else

In my opinion greys reel seats are the worst ever. Ive got 2 greys rods and i know alot of people knock Greys but ive had excellent customer service from them in the past and wil always look at there rods first, but the reel seats are pants. Found on my nitra it will tighten up if the reel is low on the rod but not higher up.
