Groyne night session 15/9/12

Well headed off down there lastnite about 7:30 with my brother inlaw we fished 8:00pm till 1:00am, we fished rite off the end sea ward and into the mouth of the river.
It started off really well with a good positive bite on the first cast producing a nice sized whiting for me then another sized whiting for my brother inlaw,we had loads of knocks and rattles just up to slack water and then nothing not even a sniff untill the tide turned then the fish came on with another 5 small whiting.

Just as we were starting to pack up i had a lovely slack liner I lifted in to it and it felt like a realy good fish and i took my time with it but as it got closer in to the more shallow water it bumped off fare to say i was gutted and still am lol but hay thats fishing on the plus side we lost no gear woohooo.
All fish and bites were on big bunches of mussel and mackerel and mussel combo and all fish returned safely.

Great report Andy. Sounds like a good session and I know how you feel about the one that got away - I lost four big pollack last week when on my holidays in Scotland but that's fishing. It will be there waiting for you next time
