Groyne...Sunday 25th

Fished from 10-4. Tide was big and struggled to hold ground. Started using shock leader again and had to replace 4 from 1st 5 casts!!! Big snag to the left of groyne! Infront if the little beach!!! I knew about it before hand like!!! My fault! Had 2 small whiting and a Flounder... On the flood... Once the tide turned was nowt happening for me. 2 erm,,, should we say refugees wer fishing next to me. Casting about 20 yards out... And when 1 of them pulled in 2 size Coleys I was foaming!!!! Haha. They'd asked me for my fish before hand and id seen 1 before keeping everything he caught a month or so ago!!! So wer the **** gettin me fish. Straight back in! Nice weather, canny day... Loads fishing groyne end! Seemed to be a load on pier aswell!!! Was hoping or some big catch reports! Ha....
Bait used was rag, lug, Macky, Mussel, n frozen Crab...
Fontburn on Tuesday for some 10lb Troot!!!! Haha...

good one mate and that groyne can be deadly on you tackle l used to call it graveyard on some of the big tideslost some gear over the years there well one good thing you did'nt blank l was on walkway 1pm till 4pm nowt but small stuff

I m8. If I'm there on big tide again I'll fish the end!! Knew u wer fishing today... But didn't na what ya look like... Haha. Used to get snagged every cast on walkway when I cudnt cast !!! Might ne areet now! Giv it a gan soon!!

the groyne was always snaggy and always lost my fair share of gear to much some days but snice they dredged it a year or so back I have never have a problem now as dont seem to lose much now, i lose more at the first gate
try fishing the river side and cast to the statue on north try not to reel in too much slack let the tide tighten line up naturally and reel like clappers when time to reel in, this seems to work for me hope this helps mate

Hiya BestNest,that would have been me and three mates fishing the end yesterday,was'nt much doing there either a couple flounder and 2 whiting,we did see your foriegn friends on our way to my car,normally ask people if they are Nesa members but it had been a long day.

When u lads walked past, I think I was trying to get out a snag at the time! Ha....cos I'd usually of asked if out was gannin! Pretty poor day in all!!!
But there's allways next time!!!
