I get asked about this alot. Will anyone join me in pulling this one together??

Would be good to cover from the gun pits right through to the rat house.

Could be damn useful for me and others.

yeah wudnt mind a little bit more info myself, especially the cat and dog steps, only fished here once about 6year ago and remember having an ok seshion resulting in my first and only bass of 2 1/2 lb and some canny size coalies.

Cat and dogs fishes on the ebb then you can move onto the beach and fish in front of the cross. Used to throw up some cod but now bass are more likely. Always good for coalies.

Some pictures attached.

Nice one Jimbob, instructions on fishing marks don't come much better than that mate. Very kind of you to take the time to post the info ;)

Jim.

Is it a low water mark. i have seen poeple fishing there before but never give it ago or do you fish it on the flood. never seen anybody fish there top of the tide. Roker beach i am refering to.

Yes, Roker beach is a low water mark. Fish it half tide down and one hour up. Fish stay on the tideline and you do catch at low water. Needs a SE blow to fish though. Any northerlies get too much weed sandwiched between beach and pier. Trust me!

OK, give something to get I say.

Anyone help me with fishing back of the doors. I've plodged it in the summer for crabs
but if someone could give me a tour that would be great!

OK here is a pic from multimap of the back of the doors. I can see the pipe and the
deeper water but any help is appreciated - just a coupe of dots on the map and info would help me alot.

sorri i cant help with you with the back of the doors as i havnt fished there myself but im sure mr charlton will be able to point u in the right direction

Allreet Jimbob. Are you the one with the Black Night? Ye naw a bit about Roker but dinna tell 'em about owld Roker Pipe ....

Aye those were the days Ivor, Roker pipe and the cross.

The Cross was one of my favourite marks - a bit like surf fishing for Bass, standing in your chest waders in the water tables. Any big sea would do, it would look unfishable, but if you got your gear over the second breaker, you were in business. The bites were fantastic, literally one massive pull and loads of slack line, followed by a great battle in the surf

Sadly, it deteriorated when the pipe was demolished.

Had a good laugh there one morning though. It was about 2am in the middle of December, absolutley freezing. I was standing in the water holding my rod. I just happened to turn round to see this bloke rummaging around in my box. I switched my headlight on, knocked my reel into free spool and legged it out of the water shouting at this bloke. Well he nearly s*** himself. When I got there, he was with his dog, saying that he thought the gear had been washed up as he couldn't see anyone lol.

He then said....you must be daft fishing in this weather at this time of the morning, to which I asked who was dafter, me all wrapped up in all my thermals, or him for walking his dog at 2 in the morning, in a jacket and pair of tracksuit bottoms. He laughed and said you're right :D

That must of been a few years ago Mr Red!!

Davy - you must know the doors like the back of your hand. Can you pm me any info along
this part of the coast - promise to keep stum on it!

The cross still fishes well as you say but not like the past. This season conditions aint been
that good - few SE's....

A guy a couple of seasons back had 19 codling from their early doors into the season.

I have got one of Terry's nice longbeaches which are superb.
